a week from today

Passports are in, paper work in complete, excursions booked and packing hasn't even begun.
A week from today we will boarding the Carnival Conquest sailing from Galveston.  We will visit the ports of Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.  We are so excited for a week of fun with our kids and dear friends.  For so many months this cruise has seemed so far away, but now...it is here.  I can't wait for a little hot summer sun and laying by the pool or on the beach.
Ms. Cydney won't be making the trip with us, which I hate.  But she really is just so young to enjoy it.  And too young for us to enjoy ourselves to the fullest.  So she will be staying here with Robby's parents.  Truth be told, she will have a blast at Mimi and Pop's and won't miss us a bit!!!!  However, that won't keep all of us from missing her tremendously!!
As for now...
only dreaming of big boats,
sandy beaches,
swimming with the dolphins
and the stingrays.
Next week, dreams become a reality!!!

surviving

Only 2 more days until sleeping in, afternoons at the pool, and days packed with fun for the Kirkland house.  But until then...we are just surviving!!  Semester test reviews, de-cluttering my classroom, cleaning out lockers and making semester tests are about to do me in.  I think I should have started all this a little sooner.  EEEK!!!  But it's here...and all these icky things just mean that summer is lurking around the corner.  For that, I am extremely grateful.  It is harder and harder to drag my body out of bed for school.  Kids too!!  Mostly because it is harder and harder to drag their bodies in the house from playing outside.  The sun is not going down until 9:00ish.  In the house is NOT where they want to be.  Honestly...who can blame them!!  It is just time for summer to start.  Only 2 more days!!!!  Hope you're getting geared up at your house...

i loved this day

After a great Word at church, the Kirkland family spent this Sunday afternoon resting and playing.

We played peek~a~boo behind the rocker on the front porch.

Played flag football in the front yard.

Smiled for mom!!!

Helped one another.

Giggled in the grass.

Discovered the fun of the rocks & dirt in the driveway.

Tasted the yummy dirt on our hands.

Which led to a really dirty little face.

That smile and those blue eyes still melt mommy's heart.

What a great day!!!  I loved this day!!
