thankful for the little things

I know that we are ALL for the things in our lives such as health, great family, good friends, healthy children, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I am immensely thankful for all of these things as well.  Do I often take them for granted?  Yes, probably so!!  It is almost as if I "assume" they will be part of my life for ever and ever.  Really, I know that is not true, but I get so caught with life that I fail to stop and count my many blessings. And many they are.  Today, I am thankful the little things in life that get me through each day.

I am thankful for the indescribably amazing smell Cydney has when I pull her from her crib in the mornings.  It is so refreshing.  It is almost as if it awakens my senses, ready to start a new day.

I am thankful for her incredibly messy bedhead.  It is so adorable in the mornings.  I am also thankful it all combs down into precious little curls.

I am thankful for my 15 year old coffee maker that still makes me a cup of coffee each morning.

I am thankful that Calleigh and Carson are old enough to fix their own bowl of cereal in the morning for breakfast.  I am thankful that I get a few extra minutes of sleep, rather than fixing elaborate breakfasts.

I am thankful each of my kids tells me they love me.  No matter how many times I mess up as a mom, my kids are quick to forgive and love me still.

Under all the mounds of laundry that I get overwhelmed with, I am so thankful my kids have cute clothes to wear.  And plenty of them!!  I am thankful we have warm clothes, cool clothes, dressy clothes, and casual clothes.

I am thankful for the laughs that my students give me each day.  Some days, it just saves the day.

I am thankful that Calleigh is growing to care more of her appearance.  Don't get me wrong, I love my sweats and jeans any old day.  But, I love it that some days, she puts the sweats away and wears those really cute clothes in her closet.

I am thankful that Robby got our garage door fixed this week and didn't cost us a dime.

I am thankful that I held out on buying a freezer long enough, that one was given to us.  (Thanks, Josh!)

I am thankful for my church.  I love the family that I have there.  I love their smiles each time I see them. I love the hugs they give.  I love our worship team...they are AMAZING!!!  I love that they give from their heart.  I love our preacher.  He is soooo young, but wise beyond his years.  He speaks the truth.  What I need to hear...even when it steps on my toes!!!

I am thankful for my teacher friends at school.  There are many a day I think I have lost my spunk for teaching, I love seeing their faces each morning.  I love what they are doing for our kids.

I am thankful for my kids teachers.  They have both been blessed with super teachers this year.  In fact, our school is tremendously blessed with many awesome teachers!!

I am thankful for the wonderful day care that Cydney attends.  I truly love the fact that her "teachers" love her as if she were their own child.

I am thankful for Carson's love of sports.  He has truly found something that he really loves and is good at.  I want my kids to find their niche in life.  Sports may not be his life, but it will always be a love for him.

I am thankful for Robby's patience.  This man has unending patience.  Believe me, this is a necessity to living with high strung me.  He loves me despite it all.

I am thankful for sleep in mornings.

I am thankful for Cydney's sweet baby talk.  Not sure what she is saying, but it usually begins with "Momma" and strings along an entire sentence.  So cute!!!

I am thankful for my new blogging friends I have met through this little piece of me.  I am thankful that I share with other women along the same road of life.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  Today, stop long enough to count your many blessings.  What are the little things you are thankful for.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;

       his love endures forever.
